Travel Eastern Europe
An Amazing Surprise for Visitors

Travel Eastern Europe is today one of most attractive facets of tourism. Most of all the countries with a few exceptions are part of the European Union and have been developed much faster than anybody could have imagined. They are like any other European country namely France, Germany or Italy. They are still called Eastern Europe when in reality most of them are located in Central Europe.

Czech Republic Guide

The Czech Republic is the number one example of success. After splitting with Slovakia the former country of Czechoslovakia each one of the two republics flourished in its own way.

Prague the capital city is in my opinion like a Paris of the East but with the old charm of the Austro-Hungarian world. The main attractions in Prague and outside the capital are:

  • Charles Bridge
  • Prague Castle called Hradcany Castle
  • Old Town Historic Center of Prague
  • Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock
  • Cesky Krumlov Castle
  • Mucha Museum
  • Karlstejn Chateau
  • Konopiste Chateau
  • Kutna Hora
  • St Vitus Cathedral
  • Petrin Hill Observation Tower
  • Obecni Dum, the Municipal House
  • St. Nicholas Church Lesser Town
  • Terezin Concentration Camp

Poland Tourism

Poland, a huge country covering great part of Central Europe has many attractions and you have to drive long distances to cover all you have to see in this country.

  • Bieszczady Mountains is a paradise for romantics and lovers of nature. The green mountains adorned with wooden churches are a great destination during summer and fall. In winter they invite ski fans to its snowy mountains

  • Warsaw the capital of Poland was rebuilt practically from scratch after the war. Today is a city of skyscrapers and places of entertainment and culture all over town.

Dominating the landscape is the palace of Culture and Science, a present from the former Soviet Union in the times of Stalin.

Do not miss the spectacular Old Town, the Royal Route, the Chopin Museum and last but not least the Jewish Warsaw Ghetto in honor of those victims of the madness of fanatics.
  • Krakow is the former capital of Poland. Luckily for this town it was the headquarters of the Third Reich during World War II and was therefore spared from destruction as the rest of the country.

It is lovely. I especially loved the Jewish market, the Baroque churches, and the Renaissance castle.
  • Tatra Mountains are the highest range of mountains between the Alps and the Caucasus. The rocky peaks are covered year round with snow. The area is full of waterfalls, ponds and valleys. It is the most spectacular of the regions of Poland.

You may stay in the town of Zakopane at the foot of the mountains and go hiking or skiing in winter.

Travel to Hungary

Hungary is the county I most love in Central Europe. I have been to Hungary several times through the years and every time I like more and more.

Budapest its capital is just difficult to describe to people who haven’t been there. It is so beautiful by day or night that you will remember it for years to come.

Budapest the capital city is divided by the River Danube into Buda on the hills and Pest on the flat side. In both side you’ll find many historical monuments, statues, boulevards and many shops, restaurants and cafes like in any great world city. Some of the other attraction s are:

  • Matthias Church
  • Great Synagogue
  • St Stephen's Basilica
  • Szechenyi Medicinal
  • Hungarian Parliament Building
  • Buda Hills
  • Valley of the Beautiful Women
  • Fisherman's Bastion
