All Famous Waterfalls are Natural Wonders. Nature has given us one of the most magnificent spectacles on earth.When one sees the force with which the waters fall from the heights and hits bottom, one must believe that only Almighty God can produce such a phenomenon.
I am going the mention here some of the most famous worldwide without any order.
Victoria Falls between Zimbabwe and Zambia in Africa

They are located between Zambia and Zimbabwe and their source is the Zambezi River in Africa.
They are better seen from the Zambian side. It is the largest singular waterfall in the world spanning a width of 1.8 km and a height of 110 meters with an average flow of 1 million liters per second.
Victoria falls Zimbawe is also know in the continent as the “Smoke of Thunders” and has been included among the Natural Wonders of the World and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Iguazu Falls between Brazil and Argentina in South America
It is located between Puerto Iguazu in Argentina and Foz do Iguazu in Brazil. It spans 2 km and its average flow is 1.3 million liters per second.
They actually consist of 270 individual cascades and waterfalls. We visited years ago on out trip to Argentina. We flew from Buenos Aires and crossed over to Brazil for a better view and overnight.

It is by far the most important waterfall in North America visited by millions of tourists coming from as far as Asia, Africa and Europe beside the ones from the whole American continent.
It has an average volume of 750,000 gallons per second, converted to 3 million liters per second. When we took the children to see the falls many years ago, we went to the Canadian side for a better view.
Dettifoss Jökulsárgljúfur in
Dettifoss Jökulsárgljúfur, Iceland
It is Europe’s most powerful waterfall with a flow around 500 cubic meters per second over a precipice of 45 meters height. It’s a real example of Iceland’s Nature and is a favorite amongst Icelandic Nature lovers.
It is positioned at the head of the amazing Jökulsárgljúfur which is the Icelandic version of the Grand Canyon of Arizona. Three other waterfalls surround the original one making an unforgettable view for the visitor.
Yosemite Falls in one of the most popular parks in the USA

This famous waterfall in one of the most known parks doesn’t flow year round. But it does flow a great part of the year when the snows melt on top of the mountains and water come down trying to find the lower fields.
It is one of the world’s tallest with 2,425 feet of altitude. It is one of the main attractions of this California Park and seen from many of the tracks and viewpoints along the way.
Gullfoss Haukadalur is Iceland top attractions. The Hvítá River tumbles down on two tiers of 90 degree
angles each. This is must stop for anyone visiting Iceland. Besides the shape
of the falls you can see rainbows forming.
Waterfalls in Croatia is a very
famous waterfall in Europe. Located in the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia, it is
group of many waterfalls some amazing enough to be counted on its own. you may go under, over and around the waterfalls
in Fjorland New Zealand of 600 meters, is one of the most beautiful in the world. It is located in the
remote and wild Fjordland National Park. It has been named a World Heritage
site by UNESCO.
Tugela Falls is the world’s
second highest waterfalls falling from a height of 950 meters. It is located in
the South African province of Natal. The source of the falls, the Tugela River,
is an ultimately pure river and is considered safe for use.
Rhine Falls is the largest waterfall in Europe. It is located in Switzerland near the German border. These are one of the oldest waterfalls which were believed to have formed about seventeen thousand years ago.
Jog Falls is the
highest waterfall in India. Its source is the Sharavathi River and it flows
from a height of 250 meters. It is renowned for its scenic beauty and is a
major tourist attraction in the country.
Salto del Angel in Venezuela is the world's tallest

The Angel Falls Venezuela located in Canaima, have been designated as the tallest waterfall in the world. It plunges uninterruptedly for 807 meters with a total drop of 979 meters.
It is located deep into Venezuela’s equatorial rainforests. It is not easy to get to this World Wonder, but the effort is very satisfying and the impression taken with you will last a lifetime.
Kaieteur Falls in the country of Guyana South America

This falls of the Potaro River in South America’s Guyana is said to be the tallest single drop waterfalls in the world. It is 740 feet tall and 370 feet wide and sits atop the ancient Guyana Shield in one of the most pristine rainforests still left on the Planet. When you visit here you should be prepared to see lots of wildlife.
There are more famous waterfalls in all continents and even the fact that they are not the tallest and the largest we are going to mention them in the following pages.
